URPDATES....Long time no blog

Well I am still at home... kind of regret it- miss riding in Bloomington and stuff. But that stuff aside.

Went up to Memorial Day for all the races around the Quad Cities and stuff.

Saturday was Snake Alley... I loved this race. No one can climb here, so I was holdin it down on the climbs. It is probably the one race I have said "wow that was a fun race". Pulled 17th there, hopefully do better next year but as Mike Sherer has said that's a "man's race".

Sunday was Melon City. I hated this race. Climb saved my @$$. But I guess I have discovered the motto of bike racing in the midwest --> It would be a great race except for one CRAZY DETAIL. This was a circuit race with a good long climb before a switch back to a finish. But we descended into a speed bump- hitting it at 40 mph. I can take a hop but it scares the crap out of me not knowing if the rest of the pack can. That on top of being caught behind a wreck... SWEET DAY.

Monday was the Quad Cities. Flat and Fast... I'd kill any road race.. but crits.... EW

Last weekend, Ryan and I headed to O'Fallon for some road racing fun. 66 miles in HAWT weather. It was baller minus the dehydration. Picked up 2nd... See, road races.

Well in other news, got into Belgium for Johan Bruyneel's cycling center. Long story short, doesn't look like I am going to make it this year. Hopefully next year. It kills me to turn this down, but the timing was ridiculous. I had two weeks to get my life ordered up and go over and then come back and go right back to IU.
